The WISI Chameleon platform is definitely unique in this respect. In 2011 it revolutionized headend technology.

It is a software-based and highly flexible headend solution in one hardware. With a wide range of available software options, it can adapt to any required environment. Tens of thousands of Chameleon modules have been sold worldwide since it is capable of conforming to all different regional standards.

In 2013 Chameleon was awarded the SCTE Award for Technical Innovation in the category “Best Digital Processing Solution“. In 2016 the platform saw a major upgrade with the Headend 3.0 release. The capacity of IP processing doubled – and in some cases even quadrupled. This was all achieved through software updates within the already deployed hardware.

10 years on, Chameleon is still one of the top-performing headends in the world – and it is continuously upgraded to support new functionality. Some of the latest features are SRT and HLS support as well as CAS redundancy solutions and powerful monitoring tools.
