Niefern-Öschelbronn, May 4th, 2023 – WISI, a global leader in carrier-grade communication technology, will be exhibiting at ANGA COM 2023 from May 23 to 25. During the international event for broadband and media, WISI will showcase comprehensive video and access solutions for network operators and service providers at booth A14 in hall 8.

Highlights on display include new features on the Inca IP video platform, e.g. the reception of Adaptive Bitrate Streams (ABR) for B2B applications and the integration of Widevine’s decryption technology, the extension of the Remote-PHY product line by a 1×1 mini node and a powerful 2×4 variant as well as an enlarged range of products introduced to the high density video platform Tangram.

Inca IP Video Platform

The Inca IP video platform is a high-performance transcoder solution for the conversion of MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and HEVC 10-bit video content, as well as a high-density solution for the reception and transmission of IP video signals via SRT and ABR of up to 4K. Per basic unit, it is able to process up to 144 SRT streams or supply up to 1200 multiscreen terminals with the adaptive bitrate protocol HLS or MPEG-DASH. This technology ensures an optimal user experience by adapting the stream quality in real time to the available bandwidth and existing network conditions.

One of the most progressive features this year is the introduction of ABR reception for B2B applications to the platform. It allows video broadcasting over public internet and facilitates the use due to standardized hardware on the operator’s side. In addition, the newly introduced Widevine decryption technology enables operators with the capability to bulk decrypt prior to the output of the services in different formats, like IP multicast, QAM or analog.

DOCSIS 3.1. / Remote PHY

The LR41 and LR45 R-PHY nodes offer network and service operators a possibility to increase their network capacity with up to two downstreams and 4 upstreams. Improving the high-level output drastically reduced the power consumption of the 1×2 LR45 by 7W, resulting in an effective and energy saving solution for increasing network capacity and flexibility. Providing network operators with a cost-efficient opportunity to offer digital services over analog networks by choosing the optional RF-Overlay allows them to upgrade existing infrastructure. Furthermore, the R-PHY nodes of the product line LR 4x are fully integrated into the Harmonic™ CableOS® ecosystem.

Tangram High Density Video Platform

By implementing a 10G interface WISI enhances the performance of the Tangram platform, thus preparing it for future requirements. Combined with high-performance 10Gbit/s network switches it ensures an overall decrease of network connections needed. As a result, the operator has a higher data throughput, requires less hardware, and hence reduces maintenance costs.

The software-based module concept GT2000 is a major extension to the platform’s flexibility and provides operators with a significant level of investment security. Utilizing the GT2100 software option activates the IP to analog modulator, allowing the processing of up to ten analog TV programs in PAL, SECAM or NTSC. The compatibility with MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and HEVC video compression as well as the downscaling of 4K and HD content complete the perfomance spectrum. Additionally, using the GT2300 software option transforms the GT2000 hardware into a powerful edge to QAM solution, which is capable of supporting up to 48 QAM channels per module as well as optional video signal encryption and decryption.
