What is ATSC 3.0?

With ATSC 3.0’s increasing adoption, this new standard is the future
of over-the-air TV, using existing antenna technologies and adding
IP delivery to end devices. Broadcasters can provide IP video to their
users without building new infrastructure and deliver high-density
content using minimal bandwidth.

Broadcasters can take advantage of this new format to:

  • Launch newer video technologies such as HEVC
  • Support new devices like phones, tablets, and vehicle devices
  • Deliver 4K/UHD content and new Dolby AC-4 Atmos audio

VMA-AT3 Receiver Module

WISI has launched a new Inca IP Video Platform module to receive ATSC 3.0 broadcast signals.

As the broadcast industry embraces ATSC 3.0, Pay-TV operators need to ensure that they can receive these signals. While ATSC 3.0 is not yet a mandatory format for video operators in the United States, the new standard is the future of over-the-air TV and lays the foundation for a more engaging, immersive television experience. As broadcasters migrate from ATSC 1.0 to ATSC 3.0, operators will need the ability to receive ATSC 3.0 or risk being left behind.

Launch ATSC 3.0 with WISI:

  • Receive ATSC 1.0 (8VSB), clearQAM or ATSC 3.0 signals and output IP transport stream to feed existing networks

  • Compatible with the Inca IP Video Platform and existing chassis

  • Each VMA-AT3 module includes 4x RF receivers, with support for up to 4 PLPs per receiver

  • ATSC 3.0 channel bonding support for future applications, such as 8K video
